German, Japan and India Guests Visit Autocross

International Guests Try Autocross Yesterday's Autocross event at Devens had a unique twist to it. A few of our regular solo drivers brought a few guests visiting from Germany, Japan and India. So they brought them along to give it a try! Some of the guests hopped in cars with NER drivers for ride alongs, but a few actually put their rental cars on the starting line and raced them on the day's course. This is just a reminder, anyone can autocross. With any car. So grab a friend and bring them with you!

RESULTS: 2022 Midnight Madness (NERRC #6)

Russell Zea winning his first ever race in ITB. Look at that smile! Photo taken by Allen Briere 3rd Annual Night Race It started out as a random idea three years ago. "What if we did a night race?" CRB Chairman, JB Swan thought the region could make it happen, and then he did. Now in it's third year, NER's Midnight Madness has worked out many of the kinks - using marker lights instead of headlights, where to place the track lights, moving flag stations for better visibility in the low light hours. And it's gaining a following. 115 cars registered to race in this 2022 event at Thompson Speedway. In fact, even Grassroots Motorsports picked up on the growing popularity and promoted it. Congratulations to four drivers that mastered the dark track and set new lap records that weekend. Those were done in FX by Keaton Van Thof , GTX by Maurizio Cerasoli, ITB by Zachary Kelly, and in SM2 by Christian Sarnecki. 32 Drivers head to 2022 Solo Nats from NER

2022 Solo Nats It's that time of year. National Championships. First up, are the autocrossers. Over September 6-9, they will return to Lincoln Airpark in Lincoln, Nebraska. This year, the New England Region is sending 32 drivers in an attempt to maintain it's standing as producing some of the most talented and competitive solo racers in the country. Last year, FIVE NER drivers claimed Solo National Championship titles, with nine more finishing with trophy placements.  In a twist on the preview of "Who Will Win?", instead of the editors and staff at SportsCar giving their opinions, they are having a little fun and putting it out for a member poll. Of course, more than a few familiar NER names on already on those poll lists, so go have some fun voting for our drivers! RESULTS: NHMS Summer Luau / RAL – NERRC #5

Photo by James Ray It was a HOT one! There wasn't enough cold water, fans, air-conditioning or breeze to handle the heat and humidity that descended upon New Hampshire Motor Speedway last weekend. With temps in the mid-90's each day and 70% humidity, it was hot and sticky. While the drivers suffered through blazing hot sessions in driver's suits and enclosed cars, the real heroes of the weekend were the volunteer workers, particularly those on the corners, grid, pit lane and in tech, that stood and worked in the heat for two full days. 124 cars paddocked and qualified at NHMS for the fifth NERRC event of the year, our annual Summer Luau and Racing Against Leukemia weekend. This included 10 drivers in the OWDE and 6 in the CRE. Unfortunately, the weekend also saw it's fair share of wreckage, and by Race 3 on Sunday, only 98 drivers took a green. NERRC #5 hosted 8 run groups, which included the CRE and OWDE. Getting a qualifying and three races in for 8 groups makes for some very long days.
