RAL Info Page The History Donation Totals by Year Yearly Recaps Highlights 2022 RAL Auction Planning It's that time of year - time to start planning for the NER Annual RAL fundraising. One of the biggest money earners each year is the auction held at NHMS during the road racing Saturday night part. As we begin planning for this year's event, we are once again reaching out to the membership to supply the items that will be auctioned off to support the UMass Memorial Medical Center. Everything is welcome! Goods and services, gift cards, experiences, etc. Smaller items we can compile into larger baskets, so please don't think anything is "too small" to donate. It all goes towards helping the families battling childhood cancerns. Possible Donation Ideas include: Race car parts and materials: belts and harnesses, cleaning supplies, tools and tool sets, work gloves, tool boxes Restaurant gift cards: fast food restaurants, coffee shops (Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks), chain restaurants (Chili’s, Outback, Longhorn) Grocery store gift cards: Whole Foods, Stop ‘n Shop, ShopRite Kid Toys: Stuffed animals, Hot Wheels, bikes and scooters Clothing Items: Rain gear, jackets, hats and gloves [...]
The final tally of RAL donations is here, and NER donates $8163 to the UMass Memorial Medical Center.
RAL 2020 August 6-9 was the annual Racing Against Leukemia weekend for the New England Region. Once again, all NER specialties hosted racing events and offered participants opportunities to help with fundraising efforts that go to children and families battling cancer at the UMass Memorial Medical Center. The weekend began with a Thursday night Track Night in America at NHMS. Then the NERRC #2 road racing event ran Saturday and Sunday, with the Road Rally crew hosting an event starting and finishing at the track on Saturday. Back down at Devens Airfield, the Solo team hosted their second full event as well on Sunday. All NER members and event participants were able to donate directly to the region's FirstGiving account, as well as participate in other fundraisers, like a silent auction hosted by the club racing team. The big money earner was the the iRacing Virtual Enduro event last month that kicked off the year's fundraising efforts with almost $4000 in sponsorships and donations for the 20 drivers that competed. The club racing silent auction raised $2227 as members bid on items like G-Force Racing Gear, event entries, and a road rally handbook. The Road Rally entries from the [...]
Written By and Photos By Jon Lamkins Event: Rally Against Leukemia 2020 Date: August 8, 2020 Location: New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Loudon, NH Rallymasters: Jon and Kelli Lamkins For the 2020 edition of Rally Against Leukemia, Rallymasters Jon and Kelli Lamkins were faced with the dilemma of "how do we layout an event two states away from our Connecticut home during COVID-19 travel restrictions?" Luckily the original plan for RAL 2019 called for teams to visit locations both east and west of Route 93, but ended up with all but 1 question being west of Route 93. So Jon and Kelli culled through the east locations to determine a potential route. A 1 day run in mid-July confirmed most of the locations were valid (1 substitute location needed to be found along way). On Saturday, August 8th, 10 rally teams showed up at New Hampshire Motor Speedway between 8:30 and 10 am for RAL 2020. After a 20 mile odometer calibration run, the teams received a NH Lakes Region tourism map and a list of 10 questions. Teams then plotted their own [...]
20 drivers participated in the first iRacing RAL Enudro raising almost $4000 for the UMass Memorial Medical Center.
A full slate of NER events is scheduled for August 6-9 during our annual Racing Against Leukemia fundraiser weekend.
We are happy to announce the first NER SCCA iRacing RAL enduro, a charity event to benefit the UMass Medical Center’s Leukemia research fund. This event will be a 6 hour team enduro, with 2 people per team. We expect teams to be able to complete approximately 100 to 130 laps around the Road America course. The Race will be held on Saturday, July 25th. Professional Commentator - BeardedSimRacer The race will be broadcast to Twitch, Youtube, Facebook Live and Mixer.
