2020 Racing Against Leukemia Final Tally
Over the August 6-9, the New England Region hosted multiple events to support and raise funds and awareness for the UMass Memorial Medical Center and the children and families battling cancer. This was our annual Racing Against Leukemia weekend.
Each NER specialty – road racing, solo and rally – all hosted events over the weekend with various fundraising efforts. Additionally, the region hosted an iRacing Virtual Enduro, which became the biggest money-earner towards this year’s RAL efforts.
As the weekend came to a close, the preliminary numbers came in and the region was looking to donate around $7000. Less than our previous year’s donations, but a significant accomplishment given the Covid-19 restrictions and limitations on events.
The final numbers have been tallied and the official donation for 2020 is $8163.
This includes the money raised from the iRacing Enduro, the club racing auction, as well as cash donations from Rally and Solo participants.
