In Memoriam: John Travers
NER Says Goodbye to Long-Time Member The New England Region is saddened to announce the passing of John Travers. John was a fifty-year-plus member of the SCCA, joining the club on March 1, 1969. John raced a red Sprigdet and a '57 blue bugeye Sprite, still competing up until 2011, dominating the FP class as a New England Regional class champion through the 70s and 80s. He also held a Tech license for just as long. John and his wife, Pat, spent many years volunteering with new driver permits and school registrations. Both John and Pat last attended the NER Championship weekend at Thompson back on October 3-4. John passed peacefully in his sleep at his home on November 3. The couple live in Cranston, RI. The region extends its condolences to the Travers family during this difficult time. NER Winter iRacing League
NER iRacing Returns for the Winter Don't let winter keep you off the track! The NER team's winter iRacing league kicked off this week. 6 weeks of virtual wheel-to-wheel action is on the schedule to keep you busy between now and the end of the year. Joining the fun is easy. Check out the minimum requirements below needed to participate. SCCA also offers members a 3-month trial membership - look for the promo code in your new member or renewal packet. Competition Details All races begin promptly at 7:00 pm. The cars available to race include a BMW Gt4, Porsche GT4 and the Free Global MX-5 cup car. Questions on the league? JB Swan: SCCA Race Administrator of the Year
