NERRC #4 – Racing Against Leukemia

We’re half-way through the NERRC season and returned for the second event at New Hampshire Motor Speedway for our annual RAL event. After the extreme heat at the Thompson Majors, it was a relief to have cool weather greet the drivers, crew and trackside workers for the weekend. Despite one massive downpour mid-day on Saturday, it was ideal racing weather for everyone at the track. This turned true for the four drivers setting new track records over the weekend.

RAL T-Shirt

Unlike previous years where a fundraising auction was held to support RAL, this year, the BOD sponsored a region-wide t-shirt that members were able to pre-order and then wear during the respective weekend RAL events for road racing, rally and solo. More than 50-shirts were sold, raising over $1200 for the UMass Chan Memorial Medical School Foundation.

Trackside Experience Success

Also noteworthy was the high number of new faces gracing our trackside positions this weekend. 11 of the volunteer workers were attendees of Trackside Experience events. Read more about how these recruiting events are showing real results in this recap article.
