July 4th Thompson Majors and Little LeMans Enduro
It was a scorcher. With temps hitting well into the high 90’s, and some might say breaking into 100, it was tough racing conditions for drivers, crew and track workers at the July 4th Thompson Speedway Majors and Little LeMans Enduro.
With the Majors event swapped with the night race this year over the 4th of July weekend, this allowed drivers to participate in a Majors event earlier in the season – which many need for Runoffs qualifications.
As with last year, the schedule included a 2-hour Enduro during the afternoon on Saturday. With the high temps, and hot track, only one driver was able to set a new track record. Congratulations to Luiz Serva in GTX for pulling that off.
Second Trackside Experience
On Friday, our recruiting team hosted the the second, and final Trackside Experience. There were a few last minute cancellations, probably due to the extreme weather, but we still had 5 eager new faces show up to learn all about the various ways to get involved and support our club racing programs from a Trackside perspective.
