Pig Roast Weekend
It was the last NERRC weekend before the Championship Finale at Thompson Speedway on October 13-14. Unfortunately, the weather gods put their hands on the scales again, and the final race (#3 of the event) ended up being cancelled on Sunday. (Drivers – watch your email for an update on that.) According to Josh Underwood, Chief of T&S, per the GCR “the race 3 results are essentially the starting grids, based on the combined times of all prior sessions.” This allowed those drivers to get another race credit, if needed for points qualifications.
The count totals were on the lighter side, with no one entering in Group 6. (Note that there are no results below for Group 6 because there were zero entries.) We did, however, have 7 drivers participate in the CRE group.
Even with all of that, Thomas McGinn, in his SE30 #117 managed to set a new track record!
Be sure to check out the current 2023 NERRC Points Standings, as we are bound to have a number of classes where the season title will be determined at the double points Championship weekend.
