JUNE REGIONAL EXECUTIVE REPORT
It’s been a little while since I have written one of these, and to be honest, I’ve missed it. Thankfully, though, the hiatus from the RE report and Pit Talk was a short one. You hold in your hands (if using a phone or tablet) the most recent iteration of the famed and renowned Pit Talk magazine, the official publication of the New England Region of the SCCA. Although it was a long and difficult process, all those involved with creating this new version are very happy with the outcome. We feel this fresh start brings us up to current standards for digital publication and carries NER and Pit Talk fully into the digital age.
Fret not if you prefer the tried and true paper publication! As an NER member, you are entitled to receive the Pit Talk Annual in your good old fashioned mailbox. This issue, sent once a year, will have season results, top stories from the year, photos, and even fresh new stories. Think of it as a sort of yearbook for the club. All you need to do in order to receive this paper-and-ink version is be an NER member. Start checking your mailbox at the end of the calendar year.
I hope that you will take some time to fully explore the new Pit Talk and see everything it has to offer. We still plan to keep the NER website, but it will live on mostly for reference and information storage. The Pit Talk site will be your place to visit for current standings, schedules, and stories.
If you have any comments, questions, or ideas, please don’t hesitate to reach out to myself or Melissa Introne, the editor of Pit Talk. We’re definitely interested to hear what you think. Since we’re talking about Melissa, I would like to take a moment to thank her for her gracious commitment to this project and the region. Without her, this endeavor may never have come to light. And since I’m thanking people, I’d like to once again thank Bob Beaulieu for his long tenure as the previous editor of Pit Talk. His lofty abilities and dedication carried the publication for practically a generation.
I hope to see you at an event soon, and check back often for new stories, pictures, results, and of course, my page-turning RE reports!
