We are happy to announce the first NER SCCA iRacing RAL enduro, a charity event to benefit the UMass Medical Center’s Leukemia research fund. We are asking NER members to form teams to help us raise funds for our charity partner. Teams can solicit friends, family, and even their workplaces for donations per lap, per minute or hour raced, or in whatever other form they wish.
This event will be a 6 hour team enduro, with 2 people per team. We expect teams to be able to complete approximately 100 to 130 laps around the Road America course.
The Race will be held on Saturday, July 25th.
Professional Commentator – BeardedSimRacer
The race will be broadcast to Twitch, Youtube, Facebook Live and Mixer. Professional commentating by experienced virtual racing commentator, The Bearded Sim Racer, will be a part of the day-long event.
Team Details
Teams are highly encouraged to create team liveries for their cars and racing suits, and upload them for their team on Trading Paints to help stand out in the race. Tire wear and fuel use will be active, and teams can spot and crew-chief for each other. You are free to divide up stints however you wish.
Race server info will be made available to registered teams on July 22nd.
Registration is open to SCCA members, and friends of those members.
Minimum donation per team requested at $20.

NER iRacing League
The NER iRacing league is still going strong and is gearing up to begin it’s 3rd season in the next few weeks. The seasons are 8 weeks long and Feature (2) 20 minute races each week. The sessions are held weekly on Thursday nights at 7:00 pm. The first hour is practice then is followed by a 20 minute Qualifying session and the 2 races.
The Reason for RAL
As motorsports enthusiasts, we all love the hard-core racing action. But the RAL weekends are special for a different reason. Many of our NER family have and currently are battling cancer. The funds we raised go directly to supporting the UMass Medical Center and provide much needed resources to help those battling childhood cancers. As a region, we are so proud that we can come together to help bring smiles and support to those families.
Over the last two years, a few of our drivers have brought their race vehicles to the UMass facility and spent the day visiting with these children and families. While we are unable to make a return visit this year due to Covid-19, we can still help provide the financial resources that make a difference.
Check out our last two visits to the UMass campus and see many of those young, bright, smiling faces enjoying some #funwithcars!
