35 NER Drivers Competed at the 2025 SoloNats in Lincoln, Nebraska
52nd Tire Rack SoloNats Ends with 4 NER Champions
After a week of rockin’ racing on the tarmac at Lincoln Airpark in Nebraska, the NER Autocross program once again shows it’s prowess by bringing back four National Championship titles to our region.
Congratulations to Billy Davis in AS, who claimed his 9th National title, but his first in A Street. Husband and wife team, Todd Kean and Jojo Corrales-Kean paired up in their SM/SML Nissan 240SX to claim his 3rd and her 1st Championship trophies. And finally, Evan LeBlanc also won his first national title in DST in a Scion FR-S.
Adding to the hardware haul were six other drivers who placed high enough to earn a trophy. Those included:
Grant Reeve – SST 2nd Place
Tamra Krystinik – BM 4th Place
Mark Ponusky – SST 4th Place
Pat Salerno – SS 5th Place
Mark Daddio – DS 6th Place
Chris St. Mary – BS 11th Place
The theme of the event was Rock & Roll, and according to all the reports, everyone on site partied hard, which included live music for two of the nights. The Monday block party served everything from the Great Lakes Fish Fry to St Louis gooey butter cake. The SCCA Road Racing department served the beverages. Wednesday was the Walk of Champions and a pinewood derby. Thursday offered participants the Rust Belt Regions pig roast, along with more music. There was also an ice cream night, cornhole tournament, and a Vitour Test ‘n Tune Challenge.
Overall, it was a week with mostly excellent weather for the 35 New Englanders that attended, included two first timers Thomas Asson and Brad Fiore.
Billy Davis – 2025 Driver of Eminence
On Wednesday night during the Tire Rack Solo Awards Celebration, Billy Davis was honored with the Driver of Eminence award. This honor goes to Solo competitors who consistently demonstrated excellence behind the wheel, and an exemplary degree of sportsmanship, dedication, and unselfishness. The winner is selected by the SEB from nominations submitted by the membership at large.
Billy was selected, in part because of a resume including attending Solo Nats 16 times (now including 2025), and only leaving without a trophy only once, which was his rookie year. He now has NINE National Championships, six overall wins in ProSolo, and earned a Solo Triad Award. He’s viewed as a valued friend, coach, and is active on an advisory committee. All this and more is why he was named the Driver of Eminence.
“Thank you,” was about all Billy could muster for his acceptance speech. “It’s just amazing to be recognized for this and to get this chance.”
Billy also collected his 5th Keisel guitar. =)
