NERRC Season Ends on High Note at TSMP

It was a gorgeous weekend, with a paddock packed to capacity at Thompson Speedway for the conclusion of the 2025 New England Road Racing Championship series. With plenty of great racing on the schedule, and many class titles up for grabs with the double points waiting to be earned during the final feature race on Sunday, there was always something exciting to watch on track for all the attendees present.

Almost 200 entries filled the track for the seven race groups, including the 5 Historic classes that joined the NERRC series to finish out their season as well. Thank you to all the drivers for courteously parking your cars and trailers to make room for everyone, even though we had to have a few spill over and set up camp in the oval.

The schedule included a 20-minute qualifying session to start Friday morning, following by two sprint races – one Friday night for 20 minutes, and another shortened 14-mintute race Saturday morning. Then the double points Feature races were 20-minutes on Saturday afternoon. It was a busy day for all the volunteers – registration, grid, flaggers, tech, pit, stewards and T&S – getting everyone in, where they needed to be, safely on track, off the track and processed through all the various incidents of the weekend. We can never say it enough, but we are so grateful for our workers!

As the season now concludes and the final points are tallied, stay tuned as the official season champions will be announced shortly. Congratulations and many thanks to everyone that participated in all seven NERRC events this year. New England Region continues to have one of the healthiest and strongest road racing programs, and it takes everyone from volunteers, drivers, crew, members, track owners, family and friends to keep it that way for everyone to enjoy in the years to come.

Awards Banquet

All class champions will be honored at the Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet, scheduled for Saturday, January 10th, 2026 at the Marriott Courtyard hotel in Nashua, NH. Registration, hotel blocks and full details will be coming soon. So mark your calendars to attend and celebrate all of our season winners.

RAL Fundraising Concludes

With the final auction for the signed Sam Posey Ferrari print, which went for $1000 to George Farrar at the party Friday night, the final total raised for RAL this year came to $7705.

Thank you to all of the programs – Road Racing, Autocross and Rally – that hosted and sponsored events to raise funds for the UMass Chan Medical School this year. As always, Racing Against Leukemia is a long-standing tradition for the New England Region. If you ever wanted to learn the history, or more about it, please take a second and read the back story of RAL here.
