2024 Season Comes to a Close
The final NERRC club racing event took place last weekend at Thompson Motor Speedway. The double points championship weekend saw almost 190 cars/entrants fill the paddock to compete to claim the titles for the 2024 season. It was a beautiful weekend of perfect fall weather, and lots of exciting racing action, as the seven race groups put on 3 races each over the two days. This included 6 drivers setting new track records (see below.)
On Friday night, workers and drivers came together for a Trunk or Treat event, where paddocks were decorated and candy buckets were put out for the young, and the young-at-heart to wander through and enjoy some sweet treats.
Then on Saturday, the region took the opportunity to dedicate a teak bench to our 75-year history with the track. Read all about this honor and deduction here.
The final points have now been tallied and the season class winners can claim their titles. We’ll do a full announcement of each class champion here on Pit Talk soon.
