NER Returns to NHMS
New England Region returned for its second event of the year at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. 142 entries enjoyed the typical summer weather – a little heat, some sun and clear skies, a torrential rain storm – we basically got it all this weekend. The regular NERRC drivers were also joined by two supplemental groups – a CRE with 8 participants and the OWDE, which had 5 cars.
Congratulations to GTL driver Ted Phenix and T3 driver Massimo Risi on setting new track records this weekend.
Each of the 6 NERRC race groups were all well subscribed, with the smallest sessions having 18/19 cars on track, and the Group 1 IT/Touring cars filling the course with 38 vehicles.
RAL Fundraiser
As this was our annual RAL fundraiser weekend, the club racing team did not host an after-party auction. Instead, donations were collected at Registration and inside the Tech shed.
However, a very generous gift was donated to support the cause. A numbered, framed print from Sam Posey’s private collection was given. NER is currently hosting an online auction for this special item. Bids can be placed online through the GalaBid auction site. The auction will stay open until after the worker/driver party at the next NERRC event at Palmer on September 6th.
