2025 NERRC Championship Weekend
The finale of the 2025 season is this Friday and Saturday at Thompson Speedway. It’s Championship Weekend, which means all finishes are worth DOUBLE POINTS. Those extra points will be the deciding factor in 10 classes to determine who claims the season title as NERRC Champion, and in 5 more classes, will determine the 2nd and 3rd place finishers as well.
If you aren’t one of those racing for a title, come join us as a volunteer at Thompson this weekend. This is the last chance for drivers to earn a $200 credit towards an entry fee (good for use next season). Flag a corner, work in tech, help in T&S, or line up cars on the grid. All extra hands welcome – and you’ll get to watch some great racing action at the same time!

Races to Watch
Here are the races to watch this weekend!
B-Spec: Just 59 points separates 1st and 4th place in the B-Spec standings. Max LuxRamos is sitting in first and hoping to hold on to claim his first title. Zach Introne currently sits in second place, but is away at school in Michigan, so unable to defend his 2nd place position. That leaves JB Swan and National Champion Steve Introne next in line in the field.
FV: Chase Johnson has secured a title with 309 points, but Alexander Smith and Kevin O’Day sit tied in 2nd with 209 points each. Dan Genis isn’t far behind with 177 in 4th.
FVR: It’s anyone’s to take with Jeremy Parker (279), Justin Zarzycki (270) and Thomas Kenney (224) all neck-and-neck atop the leader board.
GT1: John Branscombe II is looking to upset Doug Valley, and currently holds a 15-point lead over him. Peter Mumford sits just 40 points back, so don’t count him out just yet either.
GT2: It’s technically not out of reach just yet for Dave Maynard to upset Bruce Bergeron. But it’s looking pretty good for Bruce.
IT7: It’s a 4-way race with another 50-point gap between Scott Merrick, Michael Buccella, Tim Ginalski and Dick Patullo. Any one of these four could upset the apple cart depending on how everyone finishes.
ITB: It’s not set in stone, so still watch to see what happens. Derek Sivret currently leads Jeff Andrews.
ITS: Congrats to Abhi Ghatak on claiming the championship trophy. Now lets sit back and watch the battle for 2nd between Steve Overman and Thomas Swoboda. Just 9-points separates those two drivers.
P2: One of these three will be the fastest on track and claim the championship. Will it be Scott Major, Seth Allen or Paul Omichinski?
SE30: Hans Morris has this trophy secured – well done. Now let’s see who takes the final two spots on the podium. Nicolas Andre and Larry Marks sit in 2nd and 3rd, but can Alex Atallah sneak in for an upset?
SM: The one to watch will be for 2nd place here. There are 3 drivers in a tie right now for that second spot. Christian Sarnecki, Michael Tosi and Tim Canfield.
SRF3: Craig Chase just finished his appearance at the Runoffs and will claim his NERRC title to go along with that. While Ethan Bentinck-Smith, Matt Rowe and Steve Owens battle for the 2nd and 3rd place finishes.
SSM: Mark Wheatley and Christopher Benson have a mere 5-point spread between them for the title spot. It will all come down to this weekend’s finishes to determine the champion.
STL: Thomas DiCandido, Raymond Blethen and Rob Sturgis sit 1, 2, 3 . But there’s less than 30-points separating each spot from the next. Swapping positions in a finish can easily swap positions in the final standings.
T3: Colin Duffy has a 35-point lead over Austen Levesque going into the finale weekend. Can he hold on to that to keep his claim on the #1 spot? We shall see!
