Thompson Majors Group 6 – All About Family

We like to think of SCCA as one big racing family. Then there are race weekends where we realize just how much SCCA and the New England Region is really, and truly, a family affair.

Shortly after the start of the Majors weekend at Thompson Speedway last weekend, it became apparent there was something different about Group 6. Scrolling down the entry list, the same last names kept repeating. Someone finally called it out.

In this one race group, there were four sets of Father-Son teams racing, and one set of Brothers.

These included:

Hunter Bogar and Spencer Bogar in T4/SMX

Raymond Blethen and Stephen Blethen in T4

Peter A.J. Tonelli and Peter Tonelli II in EP and STL

Joseph A. Boruch III and Joseph Boruch and FP

Steve Introne and Zach Introne in B-Spec

Not confined to just Group 6, Group 5 had the brothers Ethan Bentinck-Smith and Evan Bentinck-Smith running together as well.

Not Just On Track

While seeing so many father-son and brother teams racing together on track together in the same group was a unique and fun experience, we do know seeing families at the track supporting each other is not. We often see spouses, partners, parents, kids, and friends around all the time helping out and being a part of the #funwithcars atmosphere at NER events.

NER prides itself on creating motorsports events that truly are places where the entire family is not only welcome, but the entire family WANTS to go and be together. This is just the proof.
