Well, summer is upon us and the racing is in full swing with Rally, RallyX, Solo, Road Racing, and Time Trials all holding several events since I last wrote. We are seeing great attendance numbers across the board with membership on the rise as well. NER is in a good place right now, and I look forward to continued growth over the summer months. But that doesn’t happen without your help. Everyone has to do their part. Not just at the events, but on social media, and around town every day.

It starts whenever you may attend an automobile related event. Talk to folks about the SCCA and the events that NER puts on. Talk about the camaraderie, the fun, the chance to compete or just play. Share our events on your newsfeed in Facebook. But most importantly, remember that every time you interact with someone at an event, whether it is ours or another one that you are attending, you are presenting SCCA to them. It is your chance to show just how friendly and helpful we are. There are many choices for folks to have #Fun with Cars, we want to give them as many reasons to do it with us as we can.

And now, the biggest event that we do all year is upon us — RAL! This year’s event will be August 3rd and 4th at New Hampshire Motor Speedway with Road Racing, Solo, and Rally all putting on events at the Speedway. Additionally, the Sports Car Club of New Hampshire has also signed on to help with the event! It is great to have SCCNH join us, and we look forward to continuing to work with them where we can. At RAL, Solo will be putting on an event in the front lot at NHMS, with all of the proceeds going to RAL and the UMASS Memorial Cancer Fund. They will also be hosting the Jeff Gordon Challenge, where participants can “rent” a car to take on a run for $10 a lap. There will be 2 auctions going on as well, with Solo doing their auction early in the day, and the Road Racing auction going on at the Paul Fafford Memorial dinner party that evening. We need donations for both raffles and would love to have you come up for the events as well. Contact Alex Jackson or Bryan Rogers for information on how to get your donations listed and up to the event. Finally, there is camping available on site at NHMS! They will be managing the camping reservations so please contact the track directly to reserve a spot or get information on the costs. There are tent sites as well as RV sites available, so the more the merrier!

Donations are also accepted and can be made through through this link. Let’s make this the biggest fundraiser for RAL to date! Well, I guess that’s enough from me for now. Here’s to the best region in SCCA and all of the people who make it that way!

See you at the races!
