2018 Annual Meeting

On Saturday, January 5, the New England Region held its Annual Meeting at the Radisson Hotel in Nashua, NH. During this full day of events, members were able to participate in Specialty Break-out Sessions for JDP Training, Road Racing, Rally/RallyX and a Solo Town Hall. Afterwards, everyone came together for a Worker Appreciation Lunch and then the Annual Business Meeting and Town Hall for the region, where five new members were elected to the Board of Directors. The day was capped by a fabulous Awards Banquet where each of the 2018 Champions from each specialty was recognized and received their trophy.

2018 is a historic milestone for both the NER region, as well as SCCA as whole. It marks the 70th anniversary for NER, and the 75th anniversary for SCCA. As we celebrated this event, we were proud to recognize those unique NER members that marked their 50th individual anniversaries with the region this year as well. See below.

Overall, it was an informative and fun event, where the NER family came together with our shared love of cars and motorsports. As we head into the 2019 season, final schedules for each specialty are being finalized and will be posted as they become available here on Pit Talk.

Also, be looking in your mailboxes the beginning of February for the first annual Pit Talk Yearbook, with highlights from all of the 2018 season.

Newly Elected Board of Directors

Please congratulate the following members on their election to the BOD.

Luis Rivera is an engine builder working with our Road Racing drivers.

… and Richard Currey, who was also selected to serve as the new Regional Executive.

Season Champions

Congratulations to ALL of the season champions and trophy winners from 2018. It was a pleasure watching you race and compete. Click the links below for the complete list of champions.

50th Anniversaries

2018 marked the 50th Anniversary for two of our members. A historic milestone for certain. Given it was our 70th anniversary as a region as well, we also choose to recognize the members that will celebrate their 50th Anniversary in 2019 during this meeting. Please take a moment to recognize what it means that these dedicated race fans have contributed for a half-century to the activities and well-being of our club.

The full list of all members that celebrated 25, 10 and 5-year anniversaries in 2018 can be found here.

James Ray was gracious enough to attend the meeting with his camera and take numerous photos of all the events. He’s posted most of the individual championship presentation photos on the NER Facebook page, so check that out to find yours.

Here are a few highlight photos from all the day’s activities. It was a wonderful event, and we are extremely grateful for the Rally team’s efforts in planning all the details, as well as the assistance of Marilyn Freeman in coordination the registration.
