A Social Media Recap of a RallySprint

Within the Rally group, various drivers have taken the role of writing the recaps of events to share with the NER membership. Jason Leaming, Emmanuel Cecchet, and Vojtech Kubec are just a few of the contributors who have drafted the articles highlighting all the excitement and performances from stand-out drivers and teams through this season.

However, when Kathy Moody asked for a volunteer to write up the Fall Send Off RallySprint on the group’s Facebook page, the hilarity in one-liner comments warranted recognition. For this event recap, we give you the social media highlight reel of smart-alek commentary.

If this doesn’t make you want to go hang out with the rally drivers, I don’t know what will. These guys and gals don’t just know how to race. The take #funwithcars and give it life to all things Rally related, including a request for an event recap.

Enjoy.

This is how it began…

Kathy Moody: Anyone want to do a write up for the sprint?

Bryan Mancuso was the first to comment, setting the tone for how the rest of the thread would go.

Much, much worse than Verizon. Nowhere near the number of phone options as AT&T.

Best thing that ever happened to it was getting bought out by T-Mobile.

With that tone, the rally drivers were off…

Stuff was broken, fun was had, cars went vroom, fat kid still took off his shirt.
TODAY at Team O: Kathy sightsees, Manu tries Vaping, and we all curse an R5
Today at teamo: Downey hits a rock; Manu hits a rock; Dylan hits a rock.
Jesse Whitsell:  they were bold, but it was boulder
I know I instructed there but that was NOT the line guys
they all got stoned?
Dan Downey says do as I say, not as I do
Dan Downey  just trying to save the fast lines for himself
Coincidentally, was that rock on a Right 5?
Dylan Gondyke  you forgot..and a grandma won AWD Open!?
Once upon a time….
People raced, I didn’t because I wasn’t there this time due to covid restrictions. I was sad.
The end.
Just a rough draft. Will work on it.
I would consider it, but it would be very biased and probably be mostly about me! ?
I think the big news of the event is that the fastest NA Subaru is a Fiesta R5.
The Fitness Gram™ Pacer Test is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues. The 20 meter pacer test will begin in 30 seconds. Line up at the start. The running speed starts slowly but gets faster each minute after you hear this signal, bodeboop. A single lap should be completed every time you hear this sound, ding. Remember to run in a straight line and run as long as possible. The second time you fail to complete a lap before the sound, your test is over. The test will begin on the word start. On your mark. Get ready!… Start.

And then there were photos

Of course a couple drivers had to include a photo with their one-liners.

tOO MUCH,,,SPAGHETTI,,FOR MY TASTE,,?,?
Had a great time, blew up my diff. 10/10 would go again!

What’s Next?

While the rally season is coming to a close for 2020, stay tuned for the opportunity to join these drivers in their #funwithcars sooner than you think. The 2021 rally schedule is in the works and the action all starts in January!
