RESULTS: NERRC #7 – Palmer Pig Roast

Last Regional before the NERRC Championship and Runoffs

In the last NER Regional event before our season ending NERRC Championship weekend on October 14-15, and the SCCA National Championship Runoffs at VIR September 24-October 2, a little fewer than 130 entries gathered at Palmer Motorsports Park for NERRC #7.

Unfortunately, it was a less than clean racing weekend. Multiple black flag all incidents, two red flags for full course blockages from tires, along with a number of racing incidents that left the Operating Stewards, the SOMs, Safety Steward and other officials working well past the last race of the weekend to sort through and finalize everything.

Now that all the paperwork is finished, the official results from the weekend are available here. This was the last regular points event before we head into the final double points Championship weekend to name the 2022 NERRC season winners.

After the points from Palmer are finalized, a recap of any drivers that may already have locked up a win, as well as the classes to watch where the champ will be decided at Thompson, is coming. Stay tuned. Last year, we had at least ten classes that were up for grabs over championship weekend.

A 25-year SCCA member, Melissa Introne is the current Pit Talk Editor. She has a multi-generational family history with ties to the club. Her late father-in-law, Robert Introne Jr., served as the Chairman of the club’s national Board of Directors; her husband, Steve Introne, has raced for over 25years across the country in Autocross and Road Racing, and is the reigning B-Spec National Championship. Her three children continue the tradition, holding T&S, F&C and Novice competition road racing licenses as well.
