It was perfect weather for the RAL Scorched Orange AutoX with just over 100 drivers out competing. Runs were kept to three in the morning and three in the afternoon to leave plenty of time for the Jeff Gordon Challenge, and more importantly some pie throwing fun.

In AS there were five drivers with 42 Russ Siggelkoe in a 2005 Lotus Elise putting down a 55.142 for the win. Street Touring
In STH there was one driver with 74 Brad Fiore recording a 55.709 in his 2017 Volkswagen GTI. In STS there were nine drivers and some close competition with 134 Sam Creasey narrowly coming out on top in his 1988 Honda CRX Si with a 53.666, beating out 94 Brandon Dryer by only 0.546. There were two drivers in STX with 18 Wei Ng taking the win in his 2017 Subaru Br with a 55.887. STR had eight drivers with 73 Justin Chen putting down a 52.264 in his 2006 Honda S2000 for the win. There was one driver in DP with 139 Donald Allen recording a 65.462 in his 1979 MG for his fastest lap of the day. SMF had one driver with 37 Don Kuehl laying down a 53.044 in a 2018 Honda Civic Type R. We had three drivers in SM with 54 Matthew Mickle coming out on top in his 2007 Subaru STi with a 52.489. Novice
Once again we had a large group of novices out to test the limits of their cars with 24 drivers taking advantage of our talented Novis Coaches. Coming in third was 71 Nick Bresnahan in the STU 1995 Chevrolet Corvette with a pax time of 50.235. In second was 1 Robert Davis in the SS 2016 Porsche with a pax time of 50.045. In first was 111 Mauro Aguiar in the STU 2019 Honda Civic Type R with a pax of 49.526.
Pro, Pax, Raw, and the Jeff Gordon Challenge
We had 10 drivers competing in the Pro class. It’s safe to say that we had some close competition when first and second were only separated by a pax time of 0.031! 99 Todd Kean laid down a raw time of 49.231 giving him a pax of 42.141 in the SM 1997 Nissan 240sx, but it wasn’t quite enough to hold off 96 Matthew Cwieka in the STR 2017 Mazda Miata who recorded a raw time of 50.919 giving him a pax of 42.110, winning the pro class and setting the fastest pax of the day. On the other hand Todd Kean’s 49.231 was good enough to claim fastest raw time of the day. Last but not least was the Jeff Gordan Challenge. After some good competition the day ended by crowning Alan Salnikov the winner, but were not sure who was more excited, Alan for the win or Brian Levesque for passing off the rather large trophy he had been holding onto for the past two years.
Join us for our next event on August 22nd for the NER Attack of the Cones AutoX.
