NER’s Solo team, along with the SCCA National office and Cumberland Motor Club, launched a pair of magnificent events: the Tire Rack SCCA® Brunswick ProSolo® Series and the Tire Rack SCCA Brunswick Solo® National Tour at Brunswick Executive Airport in Brunswick, ME. The combo event spanned four days from June 4-8, 2025, attracting 133 drivers for the ProSolo and 143 for the Solo National Tour, bringing heated and heavy competition.

Named Lobster Nationals, the four days of autocross action (plus setup, practice day, and more) were a successful given the magnitude of this event, in part thanks to having hosted the final ProSolo before SoloNats last year at this location.

Melanie Kwong found herself chairing the Brunswick doubleheader, and Eric Simmons picked up course design duties for the ProSolo. Jim Garry, meanwhile, thought on his feet while making adjustments to his Solo National Tour courses just a day before arrival onsite after challenges were identified.

As usual, our members were all hands on deck as we needed workers for pre-event duties and the hosting a welcome party for this large crowd.

Maine and Mother Nature threw just about everything it had at the Solo National Tour field. From picture perfect Maine scenery and sunny, warm days to chilly and rainy days, it was all there – except, thankfully, there were no lightning delays.

Trevor Frey (running in F Street) and Jeffery Cheng (in D Street) got their first taste of a ProSolo with a free entry each, courtesy of the Howard Duncan Greenlight Fund. And the SCCA Women on Track were on hand with Audra Paradie (for the ProSolo) and Tamra Krystinik (for the Solo National Tour) in the Driver Development program offering their National-level driver coaching.

In addition to all the traditional class competition, there was additional ProSolo Challenges: the Bonus Challenge, Ladies Challenge, and Super Challenge.
