Annual Paddock Crawl Another Successful Weekend
What has become one of the highlights of the NERRC season is the annual Paddock Crawl race weekend at Lime Rock park. In addition to the fast and furious racing on track, the potluck-style party on Friday night is always a crowd pleaser as a variety of foods and drinks emerge in front of paddock spaces for everyone to enjoy.
This year’s paddock was filled, with close to 190 entries for the 2-day event. It was a busy weekend for everyone on and off the track managing so many cars and the large group sizes. Group 1 was the busiest with 40 cars filling up the short LRP circuit as the B-Spec, STL and SM2 classes were joined together. A close second was the final Group 7, the FV and FVR classes, with almost 35 of them bunched together.
Not a single group was light, giving every session plenty of passing and racing action throughout the weekend with one Qualifying session to start, and then a Qualifying Sprint race and two NERRC races to finish the schedule.
Given that the northeast has faced a record-setting onslaught of rainy weekends, LRP did not escape the wet weather. However, when it came time for our Friday night party, the skies were clear and the paddock dry, offering up perfect conditions to eat, drink and be merry with our fellow racers. Cannot ask for anything better than that.
Road Racing Volunteer Credit Program
As this was the first weekend NER members could volunteer to work a race weekend to earn a $200 credit towards a future NER road racing entry, we were excited to see many people take advantage of the program.
In fact, we had one member who was unable to get his car running in time to compete at LRP and was thinking he just had to stay home. The he saw this announcement, came and volunteered at LRP instead, and now has a $200 credit to use towards his entry for the NHMS race!
You can do the same. The program is open to all NER members, and running throughout the 2025 season.
