NER/CART/MoHud Time Trial – Formula and Sports Racer Run Group Added

Thompson Time Trials

NER is partnering with CART and MoHud to host a Time Trials event at Thompson Speedway on Saturday, September 21.

Running the clockwise 1.7-mile road course, CART has adapted a Time Attack format that allows all competitors to push themselves to run their best lap every lap. Time Attack runs four timed 20 minute sessions, with a traditional 3 lap Time Trial and Open Track to Finish.

Of note, for those road racers looking ahead to the Championship Weekend coming up at Thompson on October 18-19, this event has added a run group to accommodate a class group for Formula & Sports Racers for the first time. The classes are regional only as described in the Time Trial rules and classes and are broken into 4 classes in that group for anything that fits the Road Racing Formula and Sports Racer classes. Road Racers can consider it test and practice for the Championship Weekend event coming!

A 25-year SCCA member, Melissa Introne is the current Pit Talk Editor. She has a multi-generational family history with ties to the club.
